Claudia Wijaya is a third-year UCLA student pursuing a double major in Communications Studies and Economics at UCLA. A strong believer of thinking outside the box, Claudia wishes to combine both creative and analytical aspects of her two majors to expand on her interest in creative advertising. Drawn to the beauty of elegant ideas, witty wordplays and polished designs, she aspires to work at an ad agency that challenges her to take up projects that encompass these to build an emotional connection between people and brands. TBWA and Saatchi & Saatchi are among her top few companies whose work thoroughly inspires her. Claudia previously tried her hand in her own business venture when she collaborated with three other friends to open an online shop specifically catering to UCLA students, The Walking Teapot. Her position as the marketing director of this project gave her great insight on how marketing worked, but it was her summer 2013 internship at a digital marketing start-up called Gushcloud that further fuelled her interest in this advertising and marketing sphere. Never one to remain idle, Claudia strongly advocates being involved on campus. She is currently on board on the creative team of the Fashion and Student Trends club at UCLA. Her second year saw her take up the role of the fiscal coordinator of the Indonesian Bruins Students Association while pursuing her love for dance by joining a UCLA competitive dance team, ACA Hip Hop. In her downtime, she loves to dance, write, and travel as much as she can, always looking for opportunities to inspire as well as be inspired. You can also find her spending hours on Yelp, reading every melodramatic article on Thought Catalog, or being glued to her laptop screen while chuckling in appreciation of a pun.
